Local partner

Rufada is a non-profit association aimed at providing financial, administrative and technological support to the isolated and disadvantaged populations of the Sacred Valley in Peru. The essence of its projects is to respect the traditional knowledge of the communities while developing income-generating activities. Rufada has also already carried out activities mainly concerning the education and health of children and their families.

Context

Corporal punishment, low education and food insecurity represent major difficulties in Peru and mainly affect children. Indeed, 1 in 4 children (aged 3 to 5) does not have access to an education. In addition, half of the population is unable to eat decent food (lack of protein, iron and vitamin B2) and therefore develops anemia. Thus, improving the living conditions of children involves promoting education, good nutrition, protection and the economic development of families.

The mission

This project develops integrated actions to improve the living conditions of the population, especially children.

Activities

-Build a kindergarten in Ponccolay and rehabilitate the kindergarten in Andenes.

-Strengthen women’s skills in sustainable tourism (management, administration, entrepreneurship, textiles, etc.).

-Reforest in Chupani with tinctorial plants and trees

-Build 5 greenhouses and provide training in bio-agricultural techniques in the 5 villages.

-Provide nutritional support (food supplement with fresh products) to children in 4 kindergartens.

-Educate families about health, nutrition, domestic violence and school bullying.
