Since 2015, WAM (WaSH Action Mongolia) has been implementing water sanitation, hygiene and waste management projects in Mongolia, developing its expertise and has been recognized as one of the leading WaSH experts in Mongolia .
WAM has partnered with many organizations to disseminate and collaborate on its past experiences and technical options, and continue to contribute to improving the quality of life for many people in Mongolia.
Context
Residents of ger districts are often at risk of a variety of infectious and non-communicable diseases, including diarrhea, hepatitis A, hand, foot and mouth diseases, and dysentery, due to the supply in water and sanitation. Thus, the construction of sanitation facilities and the provision of equipment related to water safety must be accompanied by awareness-raising and training activities for the implementation of good hygiene practices.
The mission
Overall objective: Contributing to improving living conditions in underprivileged neighborhoods of Ulan Bator, Mongolia
Specific objective:Improve the conditions of access to water, sanitation and hygiene of marginalized groups in ger districts who have visual impairment or low-income families and improve the good behavior and hygiene knowledge of the public

- Construction of modernized sealed pit latrines with gray water pit for households near water source (river)
