International and Local Projects Assistant, Metz, 6 months

– PADEM: an international development NGO based in France and Luxembourg

PADEM takes an international and local approach to helping people in developing countries, whether they are residents or nationals. In this way, PADEM actively contributes to the promotion of a more inclusive and supportive society.

-PADEM works in partnership with local organizations in various fields: education, health and access to water, food security, disability, housing, adaptation to climate change, child protection and economic development.

– PADEM is active in the following countries: Kosovo, Mongolia, India, Sri Lanka, Kenya, Madagascar, Togo, Senegal, Bolivia, Peru, and also in France and Luxembourg for projects to help people with bipolar disorders (mental health) and migrants (professional integration).

-PADEM’s average annual budget is 3.2 million euros.

– Project funding: Luxembourg Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs, Luxembourg Ministry for the Environment, Climate and Biodiversity, Ministry for Family and Integration, Fondation Abbé Pierre, local authorities, water agencies, corporate foundations, other funds and foundations, individual donors…

 

Status: full-time trainee

Duration: 6 months minimum. Internships are generally offered from October/November, January and March/April.

Conditions: statutory bonus

Workplace: Metz, with travel to Luxembourg

Job description:

After :

  1. Training in our intervention policy
  2. Familiarization with current international and local projects, and with project identification, monitoring and financing techniques developed in-house.

You will be responsible for the administration and management of around ten international development projects in Asia, Africa, Latin America and Europe, both within and outside the Framework Agreement, as well as local projects in the Moselle/Luxembourg region, under the supervision of PADEM’s management and in direct contact with our partners and consultants.

 

Your main tasks will be :

  1. Daily monitoring of ongoing projects
  2. Identification and planning of new projects, identification of new partners and countries
  3. Fundraising for projects, responding to public and private calls for proposals, seeking new donors
  4. Writing reports for our donors according to the established reporting schedule
  5. Field visits to monitor, identify or plan projects (depending on the results obtained during the internship and the work carried out).

You may also be asked to help with other, more occasional tasks: helping to write PADEM’s activity report, creating flyers and posters to raise awareness of our areas of intervention, updating our website…
