Local partner

HLO (Healthy Life Organization) is a Mongolian association whose objective is to improve the quality of life of people with disabilities by supporting them in a process of resilience.

Since 2016, the NGO has been working with various beneficiaries, such as blind children or people with disabilities, in the fields of health, education and housing.

Context

In Mongolia, despite a health policy focused on free and universal care, the availability of health services remains insufficient (especially in remote areas), and their quality is limited. Children are very affected by this problem, and more specifically children with disabilities. Indeed, access to rehabilitation services is very limited, health knowledge is non-existent, and their environment is not suitable. This situation reinforces the marginalization and stigmatization of the latter.

The mission

This project aims to improve the quality of life of vulnerable children through a model of mobile services allowing access to health, education, and therapy.

Activities

-Create a mobile health service and transportation to hospitals for all vulnerable children.

-Create a “mobile health education centre” for children to follow health training.

-Establish health training for health personnel and school staff.

-Develop therapy through mobile art and artistic training for children with disabilities.

-Adapt the homes of children with disabilities.
